About me

Hey! I think its awesome you actually want to know more about me!

Well you know I am a poet and storyteller, but I am also a self-described modern-day philosopher, and maker of strange, thoughtful things.

I make my home in the country out in Texas, where open skies, quiet roads, and a little bit of wildness still have room to breathe. I love hiking, exploring nature, working with my hands, and woodworking. I am drawn to anything that lets me build, shape, fix, imagine, or create.

I have spent a good part of my life around tabletop games like Dungeons & Dragons and Shadowrun. Those nights around the table, building characters, chasing stories, and imagining worlds bigger than the room helped lead me toward creating TIDES and the world of Sa’ Reyen.

I love a good book, especially fantasy, science fiction, or anything with a heist tucked inside it. Some of the writers who have shaped my imagination include Brandon Sanderson, Jim Butcher, William Gibson, e.e. cummings, David Brin, and plenty more. I like stories with wonder, wit, grit, strange worlds, clever trouble, and characters who keep going even when the odds are stacked against them.

Most days, you’ll find me spending time with my amazing partner and love, Naomi, having adventures with my daughter, or managing the chaos of our crazy dogs. Given the chance, I’m probably headed toward a beach vacation, a new food spot, or a trail that disappears into the wilderness.

At the center of it all, I am someone who likes to notice things, make things, ask questions, laugh when I can, and follow curiosity wherever it leads.
